Cirey-sur-Blaise and Colombey-les-deux-Eglises
Last Tuesday , we had a school trip to Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises and to Cirey sur Blaise. We were 3 forms : 1ereES2, 1ereL and 1ereS1. We arrived at our high school at 8:00 am as usual and off we went on the coach. The route was a little long , we made out the '' Cross of Lorraine'' around10am but we went in first to Cirey sur Blaise to see the castle in which the famous writer, Voltaire, lived during 15 years.
Cirey sur Blaise is a little village hedged with a large forest. We entered the garden of the castle. It was beautiful. Then we saw the building : it wasn't big , but very refined. The new owners welcomed us and began to explain the story of this castle and the meanings of the different sculptures and told us that the first owner was the Marquise de Breteuil. We entered the hall t , and we divided in two groups. We saw the bedroom of the Marquise, the living room, the church , and the part of this castle belonging to Voltaire. In the attic , we discovered the little theatre of Voltaire with the stage where Voltaire received some of his friends.
The visit finished , we got on the coach and went to the memorial Charles de Gaulle at Colombey les-Deux Eglises.
We ate our picnic outside the museum in the sun ! It was very pleasant . Then the visit began . We divided again in two groups. We saw lots of things like Charles de Gaulle's cars ! We learnt about his childhood, discovered his family, understood why he used to come to Colombey and his famous story. The museum was original and interactive. We heard noises, saw photos and films.
Once the visit was finished we we went back to the coach and : direction Sezanne ! This school trip was interesting , funny and enriching.
